The Fifth Service asked me to direct the music video for their first single “Room to Breathe”. We had been tossing around different music video styles we liked, but it wasn’t until I was on a flight to LA and saw an ad for Chvrches’ new album that we had found our stylistic true north.

Our 1.5 day shoot was split between shooting in Minneapolis, on a black backdrop, and on the stage. The one week turnaround was also a great opportunity for a collaborative edit with Paul Leonetti handling the live performance footage, Mariah Harrison tackling the edit and color on the Minneapolis footage, and myself compositing the studio footage and bringing the final edit and color together.

Once you’ve been entranced by the music video, you’ll probably need to get the rest of the album on iTunes.
